After a difficult couple of years bought about by economic downturn, the US skin care market is poised for a return to healthy growth, market researcher Mintel forecasts. In 2009 the total market for skin care in the US was valued at $4.35bn according to Mintel, a figure that had barely grown at all compared to the previous two years. But with distinct signs of economic recovery and consumer spend on the rise, Mintel researchers believe that growth will return this year and continue at healthier rates for the medium term. Helped by a stronger outlook for both the global and US economies Mintel researchers estimate that by 2013 the US skin care market will be valued at $4.97bn, representing a growth rate of 14.25 percent when compared to the 2009 figure and an annual increase of just over 3.5 percent. Mintel believes that the biggest growth spurt will occur this year, with the market expected to grow by 4.9 percent year-on-year, to $4.56bn, while year-on-year growth in 2011, 2012 and 2013 will be 2.5 percent, 3.2 percent and 2.9 percent respectively.

These results are not as relevant as these though: a Google search for Skin Cream yields 160, 000, 000 results this morning in Google's primary cache! Paid search, Google local, and 2 very lucky organic results come up before the Google paid shopping results, and a whole page of Google locals! then the rest of the organic results!

I am guessing that the two that show up organically and for free are making nothing but money:

Do I need to go to the hospital?
Last night me and a few freinds were passing around some Nightrain and Thunderbird and ended up in a waterballon fight. On of my freinds filled a balloon with bleach and threw it at me. I wake up this morning and my skin on my arm is burning and there is a burning on my tongue and a bit blurry vision in one eye and it hurts, I called my doctor but he hasnt gotten back to me yet. I dont have a lot of money so Im not sure if I should go to the ER or not? Is there maybe a skin cream I can buy to take care of this? I am an organ donor so I pretty much want to avoid the hospital at all costs.

I really need some skin advice. Red, itchy, dry skin?
For as long as I can remember, the skin on my face has been super irritable. Something as simple as my hair tickling my face or any type of skin makeup can trigger a small, smooth, raised red bump to appear. They're itchy as all heck and of course if I itch them they get more inflamed. I get at least one a day and they last for an hour or two usually. They go away if I ignore them but it's super super hard. I've tried switching from a harsh face wash to Cetaphil, which did no good. I tried switching from my clean & clear lotion to a generic of Cetaphil's skin cream. No good. I tried using coconut oil and there's been no difference. I've tried not using soap on my face but the skin still gets irritated later in the day. My skin is always itchy and I tend to have dry bumpy spots. I don't have any acne except for blackheads on my nose. What is wrong with my skin? Should I go to a dermatologist? I only have this problem on my face by the way. The rest of my skin is a little dry but not nearly as sensitive.
