A friend has a birthday soon. What are some good makeup/body products to give to her as a gift? Please read?
Original question: An overweight friend with self-esteem issues has a birthday coming up! Want to do something nice. Ideas? Help?
I'm not super close with her. My best friend's mum and my best friend have been friends with the girl and her family since they were in pre-k. We are in high school now. :D Basically, this girl has self-esteem issues, used to be really happy and funny when she was younger, and now she's gone downhill. She does't bathe unless her mum makes her, which is never (she has access to running water and all!), she never washes her hair and face, doesn't wear makeup, wears the same sweatshirt every day (she has to order them special online because of her size), doesn't know how to talk to people, etc. It's her way of making sure people don't tease her and all. She did have bad acne, but it cleared up. My friend is embarassed by her, and we both are not super super close with her and all. I spent the night at my friend's house last night, and her mum came up with the idea to invite her over for a sleepover for her birthday, which is next month, so it will be me, her, and my friend! We buy her like, perfume and stuff, she just never uses it. Today we went out and got her: Avon Naturals Strawberry and Guava body spray, Avon Naturals Cucumber and Melon shower gel, Avon Care hand cream, and Avon Extra Lasting mascara, and Avon tinted Sweet Harvest lip balm (I couldn't resist getting Berry Blizzard for myself too). If you couldn't tell, we were at an Avon stand. We want to get her eyeshadow and eyeliner and blush, maybe some lip tint that's main purpose is to tint? Nail polish? We need ideas. We already got her a nice plain gold makeup bag. She woln't use anything bright and bubbly and girly, my friend bought her bubblegum body spray once and she didn't like it. If possible, I like the ideas of getting her self-esteem up. She doesn't use makeup and perfume and all, but if we teach her and show her how we do things and dress and act, we are hoping she would follow suite and take care of herself. We have planned to watch Glee on an episode with Lauren (the larger girl) as an idea from my friend's mum to show her she can shine too. We will give her her gift, do her hair and makeup, go "out on the town" to go see a movie and then we will buy her a nice outfit. What do you think? Present ideas? Techniques? She already has a straightener, and she straightened her hair for picture day, and then everyone complimented her, she got bashful, and pulled it up in a ponytail. :( SO! My sister is 11 years old and is it Puberty?
She wants to wear makeup, wear high heels, acts slutty, watches videos that she shouldn't be watching her age. She then gives our foods to buy friends cause it become so noticeable. Gives away her stuff too. We don't mind it being to friends but she then gives out to the whole group who we notice aren't nice to her only when she gives something. Tries to buy friends. Lastly She steals or LIES like no other. She will stand there and act like shes the victim, even if I have a million times caught her lies and steals.
By the way. She doesn't look up to me I'm in college studying, and in no way like how she acting. While she looks up to this girl who 15 years old who has a boyfriend since middle school that's what the girl said. So my parents blame me all the time if she does these things. No until she started to steal 5 dollar bills from so now they care. But I'm sure my brother has some bad influence too. He use to be out all the time and now she wants to be out all the time.
I don't know should I just ignore it. You know the main reason i worry is cause I don't want her to get pregnant at middle school... saw her text messages about a boyfriend she in 6th grade. (oh and her having a cell phone ? ha i told my dad not to give her a cell phone no one listens now he regretting it, and it's a fancy phone)
My parents aren't exactly good at looking after her sometimes they will say "oh let her be or leave her alone" only time they care it's when it happens to them or they see.
Advice? want to understand my sister and help her. So yeah.
