How to Apply Eye Makeup

The same basic steps are used when you apply eye makeup, whether you go for nude makeup or the seductive, smoky eye look. You change your look by your choice of colors. Go for natural colors, close your your skin tones for that nude makeup look, something rosier if you want to look radiant, something more golden, or with metallics if you want glamour, or darker, smoky colors for the smoky eye look.

1. Shape your brows and curl your eyelashes. Anyone who knows how to apply makeup understands the drama only curled eyelashes can create.

2. Apply eyeshadow base all over your eyelids. Let this set.

3. Sweep the eyeshadow of your choice onto your eyelids, using techniques that best enhance your eyes.

4. Line your eyes with eyeliner. This might be a difficult task if you're not an old hand at makeup so proceed with caution. Eyeliners can be vicious little things. They can irritate the eyes or smudge up so bad you would look like a raccoon.

The most important thing before you learn how to apply eye makeup step by step is to educate yourself about the various cosmetics, applicators and brushes that are available to do up your eyes. First of all, you need to hide all those under eye circles using the right shade of concealer and then apply foundation to get smooth and glowing skin. Dust loose powder all over the face including the eyelids to take away excess shine.

Base Color: To get started, select a base color. Too many women skip the step but what you will find is that it will give much more depth to the eye when you use a base eye shadow. Start with the inside of the eye and apply the makeup towards the outside edge going in one smooth motion. It should cover the entire eye lid.

Second Color: Next, select an eye shadow that is one tone deeper than the last and apply this to the eye crease, just lightly. It will provide the eye with depth and draw the attention in.

Mascara

When you want the best effects, you can start by looking towards the floor and gently brush the lashes from its roots, brushing downwards. Next is to look up and do the same procedure but doing it upwards. Then you can apply the shades to the lower lashes. It takes about a minute for it to dry. You can try a second coating. Then after you're done, use a clean dry brush to separate lashes and this is a top tip on how to apply eye makeup.

There are many good mascaras in the market today. But before purchasing the mascara, make sure that it is rich in moisturizers. After the mascara application, allow it to dry in order to thicken the lash and prevent clumps. It usually takes 4-5 minutes for the lashes to dry. You have to be patient as a wet mascara can only ruin your makeup and turn all your efforts in vain.

Too much makeup (i'm in 9th grade)?
-concealer on pimple only if I need it. I only have 2 or 3 -once or twice a week, I usually forget to, I wear subtle Wet n Wild mineral blush just on the apples, it's so subtle I forget I'm wearing it throughout the day -urban decay primer potion on lids -a lid eyeshadow color. I just choose a random light-medium color, like Clinique lucky penny or urban decay naked under Mac melon pigment -a crease color, like urban decay smog or toasted. It's very highly blended. -thin top gel eyeliner, either black or very dark purple -mascara, comb out clumps I get complimented on my eyeshadow and asked what colors I use. On Fridays I use sparkly purple liner instead cause, well, it's Friday :). It takes from 3-8 minutes while I wait for my ride

I need help with "cirque" face makeup?
I'm a dance teacher and one of my kids is doing a "cirque" themed dance. I've checked on YouTube and watched some tutorials but when I tried it, the colors weren't bright at all I'm wondering if it's because of the brand of eyeshadow or if it's because I didn't use a white face paint as the base????
