what's a good title for this and what do you think?
Chapter One;
The date, or so I thought
Tonight is it, tonight is the night where I will kiss Shane himself, I thought.
I was getting ready for my 5th date with Shane Greer, my dream guy. I was in a dark tight purple mini dress with black flats. I had a sky blue eye shadow applied, along with a shiny clear lip gloss. My straight, waist long, near white hair was pulled back into a high and tight ponytail. I pulled down the dress and sat on the couch. Mom eyed me and started lecturing.
?Honey, don?t you think you can lay off of the blue? I think purple is better for those topaz eyes.? Mom put her hands on her hips.
?Mom, I?m not a kid anymore and I like the color. It?s Shane?s favorite color. Oh, I hear him already.? I jumped off of the couch.
I bounded out of the house and to the black guardian (Shane?s car) waiting in the driveway. Shane opened the passenger side door and held it open for me. I pulled my dress under me and got in the cozy warm car. Shane shut the door, and got into the driver?s side.
Shane was looking good that night, I noticed. Shane wore a black button up shirt that was just right and didn?t need tucking in the black pants, with new sneakers. Shane?s black longish rigged hair hung loosely around his shoulders. His bright blue eyes stood out, in contrast to his hair. Shane put the car in gear and drove out of the driveway.
?Where are we going? You seemed to have forgotten to tell me on the phone.? I asked.
?You are coming to meet my family, since I met yours last Friday.? Shane answered without looking at me.
I stared out of the window, thanks for the first kiss plan. Shane wouldn?t dare to kiss in front of his parents but then again, I could be wrong. I sighed heavily and Shane was suddenly worried.
?What?s wrong, Isis??
?Nothing, I was just. . .? I trailed off.
?You what??
?Stop the car. Just stop the car,? I stared out at the police cars covering my friend?s driveway.
Shane pulled over on the shoulder and stopped. I unbuckled, and ran to the police who was guarding the house. He halted me with a strong sturdy voice.
?No one?s allowed onto a crime scene.?
?Let me in, I am a friend. Angel called me to come here this morning.? I lied.
?Sorry miss, but your friend?s been.? The police gulped, ?She?s been murdered.?
The words hit me like a semi. Angel was gone? No, it wasn?t her I knew it wasn?t her. My Angel, my best friend was suddenly gone. No way, no way in hell would I ever believe that.
?No!? I screamed.
I ran around the police and ducked under the yellow police tape. I flung myself into the two story house. The lights were on and the police were upstairs. I ran up them, two at a time. I pushed through the investigators, and was in Angel?s room.
?Angel!? I yelled at the lifeless body on the floor.
?Will someone escort this young lady out!? a guy yelled.
?Touch me, and you die.? I growled at the huge guys coming my way.
The guys stopped and I knelt by Angel. I noticed her pulse was still going. I stared at the girl who was gathering evidence of what happened.
?She?s ALIVE!? I yelled. ?Get an ambulance.?
?What? No, it can?t be. She?s been dead for hours.? The lady knelt by me.
?Get a damn ambulance you nitwits. She is alive for heaven?s sake.? I screamed at the bewildered police officers.
?You all heard her, get an ambulance.? The lady shouted orders.
I stared at Angel. She had a broken arm, a knife wound in the stomach and, I noticed to purple marks on her neck. They kind of looked liked knife marks but, I knew vampires existed on Earth. People thought they were stories, or didn?t exist. I knew they lived on because I survived a small attack only months ago from a vamp.
I watched the paramedics drag Angel onto a stretcher and down into the ambulance. One guy stayed to talk to me. I slowly stood up, glancing and at my weirdly clean clothes. Only my shoes managed to get blood on them.
?Isis, right? I?ve seen you before; you were checking out at wal-mart and flirting with your guy friend. Yea, so I?m Jeremy.? The guy introduced.
?That guy friend was my BOYFRIEND.? I was offended by his term.
Jeremy looked startled and apologized very quickly. I forgave him and apologized for my feisty side.
?S?okay, Isis. So, why are you here? You aren?t a police or anything. Were you Angel?s friend? Am I asking too many questions?? Jeremy babbled.
?I?m Angel?s best friend and you should lay off on the questions. Why are you here?? I asked.
?Why would a 17 year old be here? I don?t know maybe my dad just happens to be a cop.? Jeremy retorted.
?I have to go and please don?t get smart with me. You don?t know me.? I growled.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and found Shane glaring at Jeremy. I sighed and kissed his cheek. Shane didn?t move, not even a muscle.
?Let?s go,? Shane tugged my arms.
?No, I. I am sorry. Isis, I didn?
mean to offend you,? Jeremy hurriedly apologized.
I slowly turned my head, like a child would in a scary movie knowing what?s behind them. Jeremy?s bright green eyes told me he was a vamp, along with the black waist long hair. I saw sadness in those cat eyes.
?Want my number? Calls anytime, don?t ask to date. Shane will kill you.? I looked for a spare paper.
?Just put it in my phone.? Jeremy handed me a blackberry.
I programmed my phone number into his phone as Shane watched, tense. Shane would never get over it and I couldn?t blame him. He had a protective side over me.
?Here,? I handed Jeremy his phone back.
?Let?s go Isis.? This time Shane growled.
The police glanced at Shane but went to their work, not distracted.
?C?mon, let?s go outside. I will find out who the real you really is.? I practically purred at Jeremy.
Shane, Jeremy, and I all went out to the woods. I stopped without the two noticing. They were a few steps ahead before realizing it.
?Spit it out Jeremy. You?re a vampire. I could tell in your eyes.? I spat.
?I thought I smelled you before. You were at the celebration your parents set up.? Shane hissed.
?Like I care.? Jeremy hissed back.
I didn?t see it but suddenly Jeremy was at my left side. I saw him flash those pearly white fangs.
?Have you had a true vamp bite? I can make your dreams come true.? Jeremy whispered.
Shane flashed his teeth and hissed loudly at Jeremy, who was leaning toward my upturned neck. I didn?t care, I would be Shane?s no matter what. I pushed my chin out even farther now.
?No!? Shane screamed as Jeremy bit me.
Shane ran and threw Jeremy to the ground. In the process, Jeremy slashed open my neck. I cried out in pain and fell to the ground on my knees. Shane and Jeremy fought on the ground as I took the pain.
?Shane.? I tried to scream but it came out bubbly with my blood.
Shane looked up and Jeremy lunged for his throat. Shane merely dodged and ran to me. I fell limp in his arms as he picked me up. Jeremy?s eyes were red but as they slipped over me, they turned green. Knowing what he did Jeremy stared at my neck, sickened with pain of his own.
CHAPTER TWO
Vampires cause Trouble. . .
I stayed wide awake in Shane?s comforting arms with pain as he carried me through the woods. Jeremy followed but only 20 steps behind us. I felt my eyelids drooping as if I wanted to sleep.
?Stay awake, Isis.? Shane encouraged.
?I. I. I can?t,? I said, sleepily.
Shane and Jeremy looked at me, sadness washing over them. My throat burned like fire, and I was depressed. Shane leaned down and kissed my forehead.
?That should help it stop bleeding. C?mon, isn?t your dad a doctor?? Shane asked Jeremy. ?Yea. My house is up ahead.? Jeremy offered to carry me.
He pulled me closer than Shane did. I let my eyelids droop and I dozed off in Jeremy?s arms.
I awoke in a dark room on a bed. Shane was sitting beside me, staring off into space. I extended my arm and brushed my hand against his. Shane jumped and looked at me with guilt in his eyes.
?Hey,? I barely whispered.
?How can you stand to look at me? I caused this, caused you to be hurt. I can?t stand myself and I can never forgive myself for what I did to you.? sadness marking Shane?s voice.
?I still love you,? I whispered.
?Don?t say that Isis, you nearly died today.? Shane stared at me.
